I was at Country Joy Flowers for the first time last fall (early Oct if you want a reference for these photos) - for my own family photos and to do photos of my friend/photographer's family, and it is awesome! It's a u-pick flower garden that the owners have graciously opened up for photographers to use for golden hour! They only allow 2 or 3 photographers there at a time, depending on month, so we have to reserve dates well in advance (they already have spots filling up for the rest of this year)!
Their website:
https://www.countryjoyflowers.com/Blooms:
- The garden offers rows and rows of flowers in a range of colors, textures and heights July through frost! The flowers begin blooming in July and reach optimal height by late July.
- Lavender starts mid June, hits peak in late June & early July, then begins to fade out in mid July.
- Eucalyptus reaches a nice height by August.
Other Notes from the Owners:
- There is a cool antique truck on site that can be used for photos!
- No pets please; we are a working farm, and it can be a bit much for pets not used to all the new smells! We also have free range pets and poultry, and their safety is very important to us!
- Weather - if it rains the evening you have booked causing cancellation, you are free to reschedule on another open date.
- Due to the high number of beneficial pollinators in the gardens, please ensure your clients do not have bee allergies prior to scheduling. Chances of a sting are extremely low, however safety is our first priority.
Location - 3086 Colebrook Road, Elizabethtown
Best Time of Day - only available evenings.
Farm's Availability: Their spots are already filling up for the year and we have to reserve it, so if you want photos in the gardens this summer for a regular 30 or 60 minute session, please let me know asap so we can find a day that's still free for all of us!
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings beginning at 5pm.
- Thursday and Friday evenings in July & August beginning at 7pm.
Parking – easy parking, no fees... When you arrive, follow the drive past the barns until you come to a large grass area. You may park there by the porta potty or in the grassy area by the woodpile. The gardens are located to the right and left of the two red buildings (behind them).
Entry Fees - mini sessions - none; 30 min session - $30; 60 min session - $50
